systemic, somatic, and deeply human -

therapy for the whole you

a little about rick

I believe therapy is about weaving together the many threads of your story — the pain, the hope, the humor, and the change. I’m a Supervised Marriage & Family Therapist working toward full licensure in Kansas City and the founder of Rich Tapestry Mental Health. I help individuals and couples reconnect with themselves and each other through curiosity, compassion, and practical insight.

My work is shaped by deep spiritual roots, years of addiction counseling, and experience working with couples and families. I bring a background in addiction treatment and trauma-informed care to support clients as they navigate the patterns, wounds, and hopes that shape their lives.

I believe therapy is a collaborative process of weaving together the many threads of a person’s story — the challenges that shape us, the relationships that sustain us, and the growth that becomes possible through reflection and connection. Drawing on approaches such as Somatic Experiencing (SE), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Contextual Family Therapy, I support clients in moving toward greater healing, resilience, and meaning.

Rick is a S-MFT and is currently pursuing independent clinical licensure. He is under supervision with Amy Donnelly, MS, LMFT MO #2019038803
